Vedra Augenstein, MD, FACS attended medical school and performed her surgical residency at the University of Louisville. She performed a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at the Atrium Health, formerly known as Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Augenstein is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Associate Fellowship Director for the Division of Minimally Invasive and Gastrointestinal Surgery at Atrium Health. Her research and clinical interests include hernia, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, robotics, foregut surgery and resident and fellow education. She is currently the Co-chair of the education committee for Americas Hernia Society and Co-chair of the Robotics Committee with SAGES.
