HSQC Foundation Research Grant
The AHSQC Foundation has offered AHS members the opportunity to apply for two $12,500 research grants. Research applications investigating all areas of hernia research are welcome. Special consideration will be given to applications focusing on disparities in hernia care, hernia prevention, hernia education, and application of robotics in hernia repair.

2019 AHSQC Resident/Fellow Research Grant
Two $2,500 Grants will be awarded to a qualified and approved Grant applicant for research related to ventral hernias utilizing the AHSQC database. All resident and fellow members of the AHS, with a mentor in the AHSQC in good standing, are eligible to participate.

2019 Abstracts Grants
- Spectacular Cases: Abstract will be submitted to present during Spectacular Cases Session. Presenter/First Submitting Author must be a resident, fellow or medical student to apply. Case presentations will be given in an interactive morbidity and mortality conference format. Chosen presenters will be awarded a $500 travel scholarship to attend the 2019 AHS Annual Meeting.
- Female Issues in Hernia Surgery Scholarship: This abstract award is given to the best research addressing sex-based factors in hernias. The purpose of this award is to promote research and therefore awareness of differences and similarities between the sexes as they pertain to hernia diagnoses, repairs and their outcomes. The award is $2,000 and will cover expenses to attend the meeting and will be given to the submitting/first author.
- Diversity in Healthcare Delivery Grant: An abstract award to recognize research in the area of hernia repair and racial, ethnic, and/or gender disparity. The award will cover the expenses of travel and meeting registration not to exceed $2,000 and will be given to the submitting/first author.
