Ajita S. Prabhu, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been a board member of the Americas Hernia Society Board of Governors for the past 5 years. She is the Quality Institute Officer for the Digestive Diseases and Surgery Institute for the Cleveland Clinic enterprise, serves as an Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program, and is also the Director of the Surgical Skills and Simulation Lab. She serves as an ad hoc editor for the journals Surgery, Annals of Surgery, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, and Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, and sits on the Editorial Board of the journal Hernia. She received her medical training at the University of South Carolina and completed her surgical residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. She completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction at Carolinas Medical Center (now Atrium Health) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
