We are continuing to plan for our Americas Hernia Society 2020 Annual Meeting themed “Advancing Abdominal Core Heath” at the Sheraton Times Square in New York City from September 23-25. We anticipate the scientific sessions to be dynamic and broad. Obviously, the effects of the current COVID-19 pandemic make this year an exceptional challenge for our members, participants, industry partners, and our host city. While we optimistically look forward to the other side of this pandemic, the circumstances remain incredibly fluid and the feasibility of hosting a large international meeting in New York City in the fall is uncertain. The program committee remains diligent and excited about the meeting and the opportunity to share and exchange knowledge in our dynamic and ever-changing field. We will continue to assess the climate both locally and among our membership and partners and will act to preserve the health and safety of our surgeon attendees and their patients, our partners and colleagues, and our families and loved ones. We are also working on contingencies to keep the AHS informed, connected, and engaged in the event that the world is not yet ready for in-person meetings at that time. Please stay tuned and we hope to see all of you in New York City in September.
